TOWN CALLED HEARTBREAK
by Patti Scialfa

Hey guys, this is my attempt of figuring out the chords to an acoustic version of this
song. Any help is greatly appreciated, I´m not quite sure if it fits a 100% but it sounds
good to me so far. Just comment if you have any ideas on how to make it sound more accurate.

TUNING
Either low e string tuned one step down OR guitar tuned one step down and a capo on the
2nd fret except first low e string (chords according to capo).

Just lift your finger from the 4th string when playing the Dm chord to make it sound
better. I listened to the acoustic version where Patti sings a duet with Bruce Springsteen
during his Magic Tour. The lyrics are probably not 100% like the ones on the album version.

CHORDS
Dm (0-0-0-2-3-1)-|
G (3-2-0-0-0-1)--|
Am (0-0-2-2-1-0)-|

Dm
They say love
Dm
A love has its very own light
Dm
That can shine through the darkest night
Dm
That we've heard of
Dm
And that light
Dm
That you may want so much
Dm
Well maybe you can never touch
Dm
Though you may try

G
Now at night I dream
Dm
I'm all alone
G Dm
Big sledgehammer and a cold dark stone
G
Man swing the hammer
Dm
World begin to shake
Dm Am Dm
I'm just living in a town called Heartbreak

Dm
Now Eve
Dm
She stood by Adam's side
Dm
Ah, somewhere in paradise
Dm
When the world was young
Dm
And their love
Dm
That was so pure and sound
Dm
Was cursed straight into the ground
Dm
That they walked on
    G
Now somewhere in every kiss
Dm
I still feel the blame
       G
Like a dirty link
Dm
In a long dark chain
G
Man pull the chain
Dm
World begin to shake
Dm Am Dm
I'm just living in a town called Heartbreak

G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Am Dm
You gotta work with me baby

Dm
She says "man,
Dm
I've given you my flesh and blood
Dm
But that just wasn't good enough
Dm
You wanted my soul"
Dm
He says "girl,
Dm
No matter how hard I try
Dm
You just ain't ever satisfied
Dm
no no no"
       G
Now at night the same dream
Dm
I'm all alone
G Dm
Big sledgehammer and a cold dark stone
G
Man swing the hammer
Dm
World begin to shake
Dm Am Dm
I'm just living in a town called Heartbreak

G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Dm
You gotta work with me baby
          G
You gotta work with me baby
          Am
You gotta work with me baby

Dm Am G Am
I'm just living in a town called Heartbreak (I'm just living in a town called Heartbreak)

Dm Am G Am
