Bass Tab

Hey all, I noticed the bass tab for new Born was horribly wrong, hope this clears it up
comprehensively :) enjoy, rate ect.. thanks!

INTRO

The intro is 16 measures long, and consists of an 8 measure keyboard part
which plays through once unaccompanied, then repeats with bass guitar.
If you wish, you can play bass guitar the first time through and on the
repeat, but this is not done on the recording. The bass enters after bar 8,
this is easy to count as the notes are all quavers (eight notes)

START PLAYING AT MEASURE 9, AFTER THE KEYBOARD PLAYS THIS THROUGH ONCE:
|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|

|-7-------7-------|-3-------3-------|-2-------2-------|-6-------6-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

FIRST VERSE

The Verse is 32 measures long, and is near identical to the intro. For the
first verse, the 8-measure intro is repeated 3 times, then you play a very
slight variation on it. The variation is that on the eighth measure you hold
down a D# for four beats (a semibreathe or whole note).

REPEAT THE INTRO 3 TIMES, THEN ON THE FOURTH REPEAT PLAY THIS INSTEAD:

|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|

|-7-------7-------|-3-------3-------|-2-------2-------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

BRIDGE

Here's where it gets exciting, this part and everything afterwards is played
overdriven. The bridge is 32 measures long, the first eight is only guitar,
then the bass joins for the last 24 measures. The bass plays an 8-measure
pattern, with a slight variation on the third repeat. The bridge is played
entirely in quavers (eighth notes). Measure 5 requires a bit of a stretch to
get between frets 2 and 5 at that tempo, but practice will make perfect –
and remember it is better to slide your wrist up the neck than to force your
 fingers into uncomfortable positions.

FOUR BAR REST:
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

THEN PLAY THIS TWICE:

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

SECOND VERSE

Play the 8 measure intro through four times with no variations, this lasts 32 measures.

PLAY THIS FOUR TIMES:
|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|

|-7-------7-------|-3-------3-------|-2-------2-------|-6-------6-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

FIRST CHORUS

The first chorus is twenty measures long, the bass stops playing after the
first beat of measure seventeen. Each of the first 15 measures has two bass
notes played, each note is held for two beats (a minim or half note).

The first 3 beats of measure sixteen are played with quavers (eight notes)
and beat 4 is played as a crotchet (quarter note) so the measure counts 1-
and 2-and 3-and 4. Measure seventeen has a crotchet on the first beat
(quarter note) then the bass rests for the remainder of the measure and the
 next three measures.

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

GUITAR SOLO

Whilst Matt plays a guitar solo, you simply play the 8 measure intro through
twice for 16 measures. You will have noticed the intro popping up a lot
through the song, fretting these notes accurately at the song's tempo is
difficult, so taking a bit of time to develop your technique with a
metronome for these sections will help you nail it.

PLAY THIS TWICE:

|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|
|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

|---9-------9-----|---5-------5-----|---4-------4-----|---8-------8-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----4-5-----4-5-|-----4-0-----4-0-|-----7-9-----7-9-|
|-7-------7-------|-3-------3-------|-2-------2-------|-6-------6-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

THIRD VERSE

Identical to the second verse - play the 8 measure intro through four times
with no variations, this lasts 32 measures. The lyrics are the same as the
first verse, do not be confused though, you must play the second verse bass
 part.

|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|---9-------9-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----7-9-----7-9-|
|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|-7-------7-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

|---9-------9-----|---5-------5-----|---4-------4-----|---8-------8-----|
|-----7-9-----7-9-|-----4-5-----4-5-|-----4-0-----4-0-|-----7-9-----7-9-|
|-7-------7-------|-3-------3-------|-2-------2-------|-6-------6-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

SECOND CHORUS

The second chorus is sixteen measures long, and is exactly the same as the first sixteen
measures of the first chorus.

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-0-------3-------|-5---------------|---------2-------|
|-2-------5-------|-----------------|---------4-------|-5---------------|

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-3-------3-------|-1-------1-------|-2-------2-------|-2-------2-------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-0-------3-------|-5---------------|---------2-------|
|-2-------5-------|-----------------|---------4-------|-5---------------|

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|/9-9-9-9-9-9-9---|
|-3-------3-------|-1-------1-------|-2-------2-------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

FINAL RIFF

This is a similar riff to the one we used in the bridge repeated three times,
then we hold down an E for four beats (semibreathe or whole note) to finish the song.

PLAY THIS THREE TIMES:
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-0-0-0-0-3-0-3-4-|-5-----5---------|---------2-2-2-2-|
|-2-2-2-2-5-2-5-6-|-----------------|---0-0---0-0-2-4-|-5-5-5-5---------|

|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
|-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-|-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-|-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-|-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-|
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
THEN PLAY THIS:
|-----------------|
|-----------------|
