Greedy Fly by Bush

Tabs

"Greedy Fly" by Bush from the album Razorblade Suitcase.

Tabbed by Brian Johnson ([email protected])

First off, I have two words for the original tab thats been posted: DEAD
WRONG. Nice try, but I don't think so. If you would like to play this
song correctly then follow my tab. This song is quite simple and fun to
play. I am almost positive that this is correct but I haven't seen an
actual transcription of it in a magazine so it could contain some
errors. But, I have been playing guitar for 10 years so I am pretty
confident that this is near perfect. All I know for sure is that it
sounds better than the other tab.

The chords you need are as follows:

Chord diagramC minorCm   Cmsus#4/B Cm7/B  Chord diagramC5C5 Chord diagramA#5A#5 Chord diagramAb5Ab5 Cm(used for pre-chorus)
E:8  E:8    E:8  E:x E:x E:x E:x
B:8  B:8    B:11  B:x B:x B:x B:8
G:8  G:11    G:8  G:5 G:3 G:x G:10
D:10  D:9    D:9  D:5 D:3 D:6 D:10
A:10  A:8    A:8  A:3 A:1 A:6 A:x
E:8  E:8    E:8  E:x E:x E:4 E:x

Ab(used for pre-chorus) Chord diagramBb majorBb Chord diagramFF Ab(chorus)
E:x           E:x  E:x E:x
B:x           B:x  B:x B:x
G:8           G:7  G:2 G:5
D:10          D:8  D:3 D:6
A:11          A:8  A:3 A:6
E:x           E:6  E:1 E:4

x means do not play that string(instead of mute string).

INTRO
The intro uses apperegios and is clean electric.
Each note is an eightth note.

Chord diagramC minorCm              Cmsus#4/B
|---------------8-----------||----------------8-------------|
|---------8--------8------8-||---------8---------8------8---|
|------8-----8--------------||-----11-----11--------11------|
|--10-----------------10----||--9---------------------------|
|---------------------------||------------------------------|
|---------------------------||------------------------------|

Play that once than the following two measures twice:

Chord diagramC minorCm               Cm7/B
|---------------8-------------||---------------8--------------|
|---------8--------8--------8-||--------11--------11------11--|
|------8-----8----------------||-----8------8---------8-------|
|--10------------------10-----||--9---------------------------|
|-----------------------------||------------------------------|
|-----------------------------||------------------------------|

These two measures are also used during the verse at certain parts,
listen to the CD to find out where.

Verse: the chords are as follows:

Chord diagramC5C5 C5 Chord diagramC5C5 Chord diagramA#5A#5 Chord diagramC5C5 Chord diagramAb5Ab5 Ab5 Chord diagramAb5Ab5 Ab5 Chord diagramAb5Ab5 (brief pause) Chord diagramAb5Ab5 Ab5 Chord diagramAb5Ab5

Repeat this for the verses except for the little apperegio parts which
are the last two measures of the intro played with a slighlty different
mesure.

PRE-CHORUS

This is distorted and has a very high treble-like sound to it.
Use the chords that are for the pre-chorus. The rythm goes like this 1
and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1....... Listen to the CD to figure it out, I
tried to write it with the rythm.

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
Chord diagramC minorCm Cm Chord diagramC minorCm Cm Chord diagramC minorCm Cm Chord diagramAbAb Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab

This is used for the parts that go : I'm screaming daisies.... and This
indian summer......
CHORUS

This is heavily distorted and involves a lot of sliding
This is the easiest part to learn and uses barre chords.

Chord diagramBb majorBb Bb\F Chord diagramFF F/Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab\F F/Ab Ab\F F/Bb Chord diagramBb majorBb Bb\F Chord diagramFF F/Ab Chord diagramAbAb Ab

If you liste to the CD, then that should make complete sense remember
that / and \ meand to side up or down.

INTERLUDE

Listen to the song to figure where this is played (it occurs during the
chorus at about 2:45 into the song).

|--8---------8------------|
|-----9--9----------------|
|----------------10---10--|
|-------------------------|
|-------------------------|
|-------------------------|

This is played twice then goes immediately back into the chorus.

SOLO

This is heavily distorted and has a very low sound to it. An Octave
pedal is probably used, if you don't have one turn your tone knob all
the way down for the best possible sound.I highly recommned listening to
the song to get this right.

|--------------------------------||----------------------------------|

That last measure involves very slow graduated bends and releses.
