When the Syndicate's records weren't selling, Bell Records asked the group to do
something more "in the vein of [their big hit] "Little Girl". What they
origianlly
turned out was "Get Outta My Life", which Bell rejected, finding it too
"lyrically
offensive" (looks like a dog/she acts like a hog). Instead, Don Baskin wrote
"Mary",
a great tune, which ironically never charted. Baskin was glad, because he didn't
like the song anyway. After "Mary", SOS recorded 1 more single for Bell,
"Games",
but Bell also rejected it (for reasons unknown). They soon left the label. "Get
Outta My Life", "Games", and a whole hoard of other SOS tunes appeared on a 1988
compilation LP put out by Performance Records. I have also seen a CD version
of this, with even more tracks.
