Throw The Raway chords by The Proclaimers

Chords with lyrics

By Doom Drew

NOTE: I learned this purely by listening so I would appreciate any corrections that may
be appropriate.
Also there is one particular chord which I (using online chord identifier) identified as
Emaj7sus4.
The chord looks like this... It is much simpler than the name suggests.

Chord diagramG+G|--2-------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--1-------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2-------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|----------|

Capo 4

Intro Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramE MajorE Emaj7sus4 (x2)

Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramA augmentedA
I've been so sad
Chord diagramA minorAm Chord diagramE MajorE
Since you said my accent was bad
Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramA minorAm Chord diagramE MajorE
He's wearin' a frown This Caledonian clown
Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramA augmentedA
I'm just going to have to learn to hesitate
Chord diagramA minorAm Chord diagramAm7Am7 Emaj7sus4 Chord diagramE MajorE
To make sure my words On your Saxon ears don't grate
Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramA augmentedA
But I wouldn't know a single word to say
Chord diagramA minorAm Chord diagramAm7Am7 Emaj7sus4 Chord diagramE MajorE
If I flattened all the vowels And threw the 'R' away

Some days I stand
On your green and pleasant land
How dare I show face
When my diction is such a disgrace

I'm just going to have to learn to hesitate
To make sure my words
On your Saxon ears don't grate
But I wouldn't know a single word to say
If I flattened all the vowels
And threw the 'R' away

Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramE7E7
You say that if I want to get ahead
Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramAm7Am7
The language I use should be left for dead
Chord diagramE MajorE Emaj7sus4 Chord diagramE MajorE
It doesn't please your ear
Chord diagramE MajorE Chord diagramE7E7
And though you tell it like a leg-pull
Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramAm7Am7
It seems you're still full of John Bull
Chord diagramE MajorE Emaj7sus4 Chord diagramE MajorE
You just refuse to hear

Oh what can I do
To be understood by you
Perhaps for some money
I could talk like a bee dripping honey.

I'm just going to have to learn to hesitate
To make sure my words
On your Saxon ears don't grate
But I wouldn't know a single word to say
If I flattened all the vowels
And threw the 'R' away

You say that if I want to get ahead
The language I use should be left for dead
It doesn't please your ear
And though you tell it like a leg-pull
I think you're still full of John Bull
You just refuse to hear

He's been so sad
Since you said his accent was bad
He's wearin' a frown
This Caledonian clown

I'm just going to have to learn to hesitate
To make sure my words
On your Saxon ears don't grate
But I wouldn't know a single word to say
If I flattened all the vowels
And threw the 'R' away
Flattened all the vowels
And threw the 'R' away
If I flattened all the vowels
