  Pl= pluck all four strings with thumb on bass and index, middle, and
ring fingers
     on top strings
   d= downward stroke with middle and ring fingers
   u= upward stroke with index and middle fingers
   t= thumb
   i= index
(u)*= you sort of strum upwards but you barely catch the strings.  It
just
      helps to keep the rhythm going.
