CARRY ON (LIVE ACOUSTIC) - FUN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabbed by:Ballaman82
-Based on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq0PyCJMaJs&feature=fvwrel
-It's dropped a half step from the studio version, so if you want to play along with the
album, throw a capo on the first fret.
-Standard Tuning on Acoustic Guitar

For those of you who simply want the chords, here is a simplified version:

Verse: E, Chord diagramA augmentedA
Pre- Chorus- E, F#m/E, G#m/E, A/E, E, A, E, Chord diagramA augmentedA
Chorus: E, A, Chord diagramBB
Bridge: (A, E, Chord diagramBB) 3x, then (E, F#m/E, G#m/E, Chord diagramA/EA/E) 4x

Intro
e|-0----0-----0--------0---0----------------0-----------|
Chord diagramBB|-0--0---0---2--2-0-2-----2p0---0---0------2-----------|
Chord diagramG+G|-1----------2------------1---1---0---2p1--2-----------| 2x
Chord diagramD MajorD|-2----------2------------2----------------2-----------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-2----------0------------2----------------0-----------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|-0-----------------------0----------------------------|

Verse
Each Chord diagramE MajorE and Chord diagramA augmentedA chord is strummed once and held for four counts

e|-0-----0-----0-----------0----|
Chord diagramBB|-0-----2-----0-----------2----|
Chord diagramG+G|-1-----2-----1-----------2----| 2x
Chord diagramD MajorD|-2-----2-----2----2------2----|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-2-----0-----2--2---2----0----|
Chord diagramE MajorE|-0-----------0----------------|

Pre-Chorus (we are not, we are not shining stars....)
All chords are strummed and held for four counts

e|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0---------0------|
Chord diagramBB|--0-----0-----0-----5-----0-----2-----0---------2------|
Chord diagramG+G|--1-----2-----4-----6-----1-----2-----1---------2------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----2-----2----2----2------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----0-----2--2---2--0------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----------0----------------|
Chorus

The strum here is as follows, shown in line with a count of 1-and 2-and etc. at a speed
of about 120 bpm. Strum the chord indicated on the beat and it should sound right. Play
this four times.

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
Chord diagramE MajorE - Chord diagramE MajorE E - - Chord diagramE MajorE E

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
Chord diagramA augmentedA - Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramA majorA B-BBBBB

If that doesn't make sense, it's these three chords in order, played four times, and you
can figure out a strum pattern that works for you.

E, Asus2, Chord diagramBsus4Bsus4

e|--0---0---0------|
Chord diagramBB|--0---0---0------|
Chord diagramG+G|--1---2---4------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2---2---4------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2---0---2------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0--------------|

Second Verse

-same chords, but the Chord diagramA augmentedA becomes and Asus2, and structure as before, but now the strum
pattern is:

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
x x x x xxx x x

Essentially, it's strumming each eighth note, with a triplet on the third count. And
accent the second beat.
Or, in simpler terms, two strums per beat, but three strums on the third beat.

Second Pre-Chorus
- same strum pattern as shown for second verse
-the last chord is played quickly and could be left out, it is just a transition chord

e|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0-----0-----|
Chord diagramBB|--0-----0-----0-----5-----0-----0-----0------5-----7-----|
Chord diagramG+G|--1-----2-----4-----6-----1-----2-----4------6-----8-----|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7-----9-----|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7-----9-----|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0-----7-----|

Second Chorus

-Identical to the first

Bridge

Strum the Chord diagramBsus4Bsus4 rapidly for "Woah"

-then move into this next part. I like to use a triplet (three strums on each beat)
strum pattern for this whole part. It sounds really good if you focus your first three
strums on the lower part of the chord and then accent it on the fourth and sixth beats
with the high part of the chord. But just a simple triplet pattern works great too.

e|--0---0---0------|
Chord diagramBB|--0---0---0------|
Chord diagramG+G|--2---1---4------| 3x
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2---2---4------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--0---2---2------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|------0----------|

e|-0--0000---0--0000---|
Chord diagramBB|-0--0000---0--0000---|
Chord diagramG+G|-2--2222---4--4444---|
Chord diagramD MajorD|-2--2222---4--4444---|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-0--0000---2--2222---|
Chord diagramE MajorE|---------------------|

e|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0------|
Chord diagramBB|--0-----0-----0-----5-----0-----0-----0------5------|
Chord diagramG+G|--1-----2-----4-----6-----1-----2-----4------6------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0------|

e|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0-----0-----|
Chord diagramBB|--0-----0-----0-----5-----0-----0-----0------5-----7-----|
Chord diagramG+G|--1-----2-----4-----6-----1-----2-----4------6-----8-----|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7-----9-----|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2-----4-----6-----7-----2-----4-----6------7-----9-----|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0------0-----7-----|

Third Chorus
-Same as the others

Outro
- One strum on each of the first three counts, eighth note strum for the fourth

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
x - x - x - x x

e|--0---0---|
Chord diagramBB|--0---0---|
Chord diagramG+G|--1---2---|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--2---2---|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--2---0---|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--0-------|

Then play the intro twice more and end on an E.

e|-0----0-----0--------0---0----------------0-----------|
Chord diagramBB|-0--0---0---2--2-0-2-----2p0---0---0------2-----------|
Chord diagramG+G|-1----------2------------1---1---0---2p1--2-----------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|-2----------2------------2----------------2-----------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-2----------0------------2----------------0-----------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|-0-----------------------0----------------------------|

Enjoy!
