Piano Playing Tips:
Left Hand: Play octaves in the bass (Ab, Db, Eb) to provide a rich, grounded
sound typical of Southern Gospel.
Right Hand: Use "inverted" chords to keep the movement smooth. For example,
when moving from Ab to Db,
keep the Ab note as your anchor in the middle of the chord.
Dynamics: Start the first verse very softly (mezzopiano). Build the volume
and intensity during the Bridge,
and play the final Chorus with full, powerful chords.
The "Gospel" Turn: At the end of the Chorus, when playing "To stay broken,"
you can play a quick Bbm -> Eb ->
Ab cadence to give it that classic resolution.
