                        SCREWDRIVER - White Stripes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: MCR7

I didn't really see a tab for this song that I felt was correct, so I decided to
do one myself. The song is pretty simple, since most of the parts repeat. When
you're playing this song, make sure you use a lot of distortion. It makes it sound great.

here the chords change. On the 5\3, you are
just lifting your fingers off of the A and D strings
and sliding on the E string.

VERSE 1

The verse is very simple. Jack just alternates between A5 and G5, strumming each once.
The strumming is pretty soft too.

A5 G5

e---| e---|
B---| B---|
G---| G---|
D-7-| D-5-|
A-7-| A-5-|
E-5-| E-3-|

A5
  Tuesday mornin' now,
G5
I gotta have somewhere to go.
A5
  I call up Tommy now,
G5
I call him on the telephone.

A5
Won't you wake up and come with me now,
G5
I'm goin' to the pawn and loan.
A5
  Walkin' down thirty-three,
G5
  walkin' down thirty o.

A5 G5

CHORUS

The chorus is basically the same as the intro. The timing on the chords changes a
little, but that's about it.

VERSE 2

This verse follows the same pattern as the last one.

A5
What am I suppose to think,
G5
I dropped a nickel in the sink.
A5
I love people like a brother now,
G5
but I'm not gonna be their mother now.

A5
What if someone walked up to me and,
G5
Like an apple cut right through me.
A5
I'm not just gonna stand there grinning,
G5
Cause I'm not the one whose sinning.
       A5 G5
  Screwdriver.

Ok, going into the chorus here Jack sort of builds up the strumming on the two chords,
like this:

e-------------------------------|
B-------------------------------|
G-------------------------------|
D-7-------7-7-7-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-|
A-7-------7-7-7-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-|
E-5-------5-5-5-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-|

CHORUS
Here the chorus changes a lot. Jack adds this part here to the beginning:

e-------------|
B-------------|
G-------------|
D---7--7--7---|
A---7--7--7---|
E---5--5--5---|

e-------------|
B-------------|
G-------------|
D---7--7--7---|
A---7--7--7---|
E---5--5--5---|

e---------------------------|
B---------------------------|
G------------b7-7p5h7p5-----|
D---7--7--7-------------h7--|
A---7--7--7-----------------|
E---5--5--5-----------------|

and then the regular chorus changes to this:

e-------------------------|
B-------------------------|
G-------------------------|
D--7--7--7---5--5--7--7---|
A--7--7--7---5--5--7--7---|
E--5--5--5---3--3--5--5---|

e----------------------------------------|
B----------------------------------------|
G----------------------------------------|
D--7--7--7---5--5--7---5--7--------5-----|
A--7--7--7---5--5--7---5--7--------5-----|
E--5--5--5---3--3--5---3--5--------3-----|

VERSE 3

A5
Now that you have heard my story now,
G5
I got a little ending to it now.
A5
When ever you go out alone,
G5
Take a little dog a bone.

A5
And think about your little sister,
G5
And then you gotta drive it home,
       A5 G5
  Screwdriver.

A5 G5

Here the strumming changes to 1 measure of eighth notes for each chord (which is 8
times for anyone who doesn't know what that means.) Also, the intensity of the
strumming increases all the way up to the ending part, which is very similar to
the chorus. (Hopefully by now I don't need to put the chords there, but I will
anyways.)

A5
I got a little feeling goin' now.
G5
I got a little feeling goin' now.
A5
I got a little feeling goin' now.
G5
I got a little feeling goin' now.
A5
I got a little feeling goin' now.
G5
I got a little feeling goin' now!
A5
I got a little feeling goin' now!
G5
I got a little feeling goin' now!
A5
I GOT A LITTLE FEELING GOIN' NOW!
G5
I GOT A LITTLE FEELING GOIN' NOW!
A5
I GOT A LITTLE FEELING GOIN' NOW!
G5
  NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!
