A beautiful song we hope to see on a forthcoming album.
Here's my rendition. Some chords I know are more complex
with the dual guitar interplay, but I think this is basically it.
I'm not sure about the transition chord in the prechorus,
where it shifts from some kind of E minor to an E major.
Also foggy is the Em7/Asus2 towards the end of the chorus.
Note the ending outro is different from the rest of the song.

NOTE: capo 3rd fret (so an E minor as noted here is really a G minor).
This is easier for me to deal with. Sorry if you don't like it.
standard tuning EADGBE

(intro)
Em Am/Am7

(verse)
Em
I lost you a while ago.
Am Em
Still I don't know why.
Em
I can't say your name
Am Em
without a crow flying by.

(prechorus)
Cmaj7 Em/Em7
Gotta watch my back
                        E/E7
now that you turned me around.
Am/Am7
You got me walkin backwards
            Em
into my hometown.

(chorus)
G C
Throw me a rope
       G C
on the rolling tide.
Am Em C
What did you want it to be?
Am Em C
You said it's him or me.
Em7/Asus2
The way you made it,
C G
that's the way it will be.

(verse)
Em
We were seven years on the Burma shore
     Am/Am7 Em
with Gatling guns and (paint? pails? pain?),
Em
working the lowlands door to door
Am/Am7 Em
like Latter Day Saints.

Cmaj7 Em/Em7
But then you turned me out
                  E/E7
at the top of the stairs.
Am/Am7
You took all the glory
                       Em
that you just couldn't share.

G C
Throw me a rope
       G C
on the rolling tide.

What did you want it to be?
Am Em C
You said it's him or me.
Em7/Asus2
The way you made it,
C G
that's the way it will be.

I've never been so disabused.
Am/Am7 Em
I've never been so mad.
Em
I've never been served anything
Am/Am7 Em
that tasted so bad.

Cmaj7 Em/Em7
You might need a friend
                 E/E7
any day now, any day.
Am/Am7
O my brother be careful.
                 Em
You are drifting away.

G C
Throw me a rope
       G C
on the rolling tide.

What did you want it to be?

The way you made it,
C G
that's the way it will be.
