Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream chords by The Weavers
Guitar chords with lyrics
Many years ago I saw Verse 2 in the 'Folk Process' column of Sing Out magazine. I, regrettably,
don't know who wrote it. It was likely in the late seventies, early eighties.
I have no earthly notion what key this was originally recorded in.
It is a fairly straight forward process to transpose to suit your voice.
LAST NIGHT I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM
By Ed McCurdy
CHORUS:
C F C
Last night I had the strangest dream I?d never dreamed before,
G C Am Dm G7 C
I dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war.
F C G G7 C C7
I dreamed I saw a mighty room, full of women and men
F C G G7 C
And the paper they were signing said we?d never fight again.
VERSE 1:
C F C
And when the paper was all signed and a million copies made,
G C Am Dm G7 C
They all joined hands and bowed their heads and grateful prayers were prayed
F C G G7 C C7
And the people in the streets below began to dance around
F C G G7 C
While swords and guns and uniforms were scattered on the ground.
VERSE 2:
C F C
So let?s join hands and make a vow that we?ll have peace today
G C Am Dm G7 C
Let Hiroshima?s voice ring out, Peace now with no delay.
F C G G7 C C7
And then children all around can sing and dance and play
F C G G7 C
And generations yet to come will never have to say:
C F C
Last night I had the strangest dream I?d never dreamed before,
G C Am Dm G7 C
I dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war. Please rate for accuracy!
