Here She Comes Now tab by The Velvet Underground

Guitar Tab

The Kurt Cobain version will not do, because of course the original is
always superior. So this is the Velvet's version from White Light/White
Heat, the transition from side 1 to side 2 and a psychedelic masterpiece.

/ = slide up
\ = slide down
~ = Vibrato, let ring

Standard tuning. The Velvet's don't play in this key (sort of), they seem to
have the top string out of tune just slightly lower, and some other small
things that are really a bother. So don't try to play along with the actual
song with the standard tuning.

Play with as much freewheeling-ness and do everything you can to get that
sound they use for your guitar!

INTRO guitar 1

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B------7-7----7-7----7~ ------8-8----8-8---8~ --------------------------
G---7------7------7-----------------7------7------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------

INTRO guitar 2 (you know when to come in)

E---------------------------7---------5~ ----------------------------------
B------7~ ------5~ --------------------------------------------------------
G---7-------5----------/ 7------/5------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
(accent these slides a lot, they give the
texture)

These parts play simultaneously, then the guitar 1 drops out when Lou starts
singing, and the guitar continues its pattern.

VERSE (same as guitar 2's intro) If you listen very hard this pattern is
continued under all that bass/organ/whatnot/whatever. I gotta be honest I
don't know what all they're playing in this song...

E---------------------------7---------5~ ----------------------------------
B------7~ ------5~ --------------------------------------------------------
G---7-------5----------/ 7------/5------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now...if she ever comes now now" etc...which transfers smoothly into
the
chorus

CHORUS

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
D---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A---3-----------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Aww...it looks so good..."etc. Play a syncopated muted C chord,
accenting the lower two strings of the chord. This may not sound right, but
with the singing in the background and all the distortion, it does.

E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
D---5-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A---3-----------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Aww, it's made outta wood..." continue with the same pattern.

E--------------------------------------------------------------
B---/ 7---------------------------------------------------------
G---/ 7---------------------------------------------------------
D---/ 7---------------------------------------------------------
A---/ 5---------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------
"Just look and see..." slide up to a D chord, playing fully, in an
eighth-sixteenth combination pattern.

Repeat verse and chorus again.

And the rest is improv stuff, never played the same twice in the few
bootlegs I've got of this song. Make up your own stuff. Check back, I'm in
the middle of doing a few more Velvet songs, they should be done soon.
