Tabs

Eyes of Sand by Tonic on the Scream 2 Soundtrack
tabbed by Jeff Lee ([email protected])

This song kicks some serious ass. It's got the catchiest damn riffage in
the world. Only wish it got more widely distributed.

This tab sounds almost like the real thing, but I can't be sure.

My notation is a little dirty but this should help. Apologies ahead of
time.

Tuning: 1/2 step below concert tuning (go figure...why do you guys do
this ):
Chord diagramEb MajorEb Chord diagramAbAb Chord diagramDbDb Chord diagramGbGb Chord diagramBb majorBb Chord diagramEb MajorEb

Intro and Chorus

Chord diagramE MajorE|--3-|--3-3h6--3--3h6--3-----------------(5)b6--3---------------------|
^chorus only (in intro, second guitar comes in after first guitar)

There's a revision for this riff at the end. It's important to put a
heavy
blues vamp on everything...throw in some vibratos and make those bends
as raunchy as possible.

During the outro they start to jam around and do lots of bluesy sounding
bends on the 5th fret on the Chord diagramE MajorE string.

This is all heavily syncopated so you'll have to forgive my clumsy
rhythm
marking.

The bass follows the root note of the chords...the "tonic" if you will.

Damn, I'm clever.

Verse
First Guitar:
    Gmaj Chord diagramCsus2Csus2 Gmaj
Chord diagramE MajorE|-----------------------3---------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|--------3------3--3----3r----------------0--3--1--------0--3--2------|
Chord diagramG+G|------0--------0--0----5a------------2/4-------2----2/4-------1------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--4/5-----4/5--5--5----5k--------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-----------------------3e--------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

Chord diagramE MajorE|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|------0--3--1--------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramG+G|--2/4-------2--------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

Second Guitar:
Follows the first guitar right through to the Csus2, and the plays palm-
muted G's. Listen with headphones to get the precise version. They sorta
double and quadruple strum some parts.

Bridge
First Guitar:
Gmaj or Cmaj Chord diagramBb5Bb5 (last 2 times) Chord diagramG+G
Chord diagramE MajorE|-------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|-------------------------|---------------0-----------------0---------|
Chord diagramG+G|--4p2p0-0--------0-------|-3p2p0-0-----5-----3p2p0-0-----5-----------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|----------4/5--5---------|---------4/5---------------4/5-------------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|--------------------3----|-----------------3-----------------3-------|

Second Guitar:
tacit(maybe muted chords) Chord diagramBb5Bb5 Gmaj
Chord diagramE MajorE|-------------------------|-1-----------------1---------------3-------|
Chord diagramBB|-------------------------|-1-----------------1---------------3-------|
Chord diagramG+G|-------------------------|-3-----------------3---------------4-------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|-------------------------|-3-----------------3---------------5-------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|-------------------------|-1-----------------1---------------5-------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|-------------------------|-----------------------------------3-------|

The bass in this song just follows the root notes of the chords (besides
the intro and chorus). Rhythmically I think it's just consistent eigth
notes.

Revision of main riff:

One (better-sounding)alternative to the union bending in the
chorus/intro is:

Chord diagramE MajorE|--5--5b6---7---------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|--6--6b7---8---------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramG+G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramE MajorE|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

It sounds like they bend the whole thing (both strings). It's rather
difficult to get both strings to sound the right pitch.
