Put your index finger on the fifth fret on the G-string. After the first chord, you've let go of your index finger, leaving the index finger and the middle finger free for the bass line. The first three notes on the lowest string (E-string tuned down to D) are played on an open string (so only using your thumb on your strumming hand), and then use your middle finger for the 7th fret on the lowest string, and then your index finger for the fifth fret on the A-string.
