have chord progressions that are similar... and sometimes the same. Not too long ago, I got the idea to put a medley together - Much like the infamous Point/Keasbey Nights/Counterpoint that every SM loves so much. Except this one isn't quite as epic, and it contains a few more songs. 5 to be exact. So, I put one together last night containing 12341234, The Big Sleep, Supernothing, One Foot On the Gas, One Foot In the Grave, and Somewhere In the Between. This is a rough version, and I'm sure it could be better. These tabs are not my own, I got them from this site, though I did make a change here and there. Arranged by Matt Warunek -------------------- C You, you try, you try to get by. Am "You're never going to pull it off", "You shouldn't even try" F "You're a wet cigarette", "You're always second best", G but they're never going to give a shit about anybody but themselves. C so you fight for them to realize; Am there's more to life, there's more to you, there's more than meets the eye. F And when you're done, the battle's been won. G You sit back, you smile and this is what you hum, you hum: -----------------------| -----------------------| -----------------------| -----------------------| ------3-5-5b7r5-3------| --3-5------------------| C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na Am When as you close your eyes for the big sleep F I hope you think of me, yeah C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na G He wakes up sad again and he wonders when the rain will end, G She acts like she don’t care cause to her it’s just a game, that he plays, F I’m a super, I’m a nothing, I’m a no one, goin’ nowhere fast, C But I don’t care, but I don’t care, F I’m a super, I’m a nothing, I’m a no one, goin’ nowhere fast, G But I don’t care, but I don’t care. C The years go by, the time it does fly. Am Every single second is a moment in time that F passes oh, so quick and it seems like nothing, G but when you're looking back, well it amounts to everything. C I've got myself. I've got my friends. Am I've got my little family, but that's not where it ends. F This one goes out to you, it goes out to everyone. G It's in the name of honesty because life has just begun. C Started with six or seven, moved on to eight or nine. What will you do when they come you? C Nobody seemed to notice, nobody seemed to mind. What will you do when they come for you? C Little miss demissed can't miss like a detuned radio. I cannot believe you when you tell what you know G C And nothing will be broken if your house is made of stone. But you will know as I do it never be a home G We want it, they got it. They claim we'll die without it G But something tells me they are wrong G C So what will you do when they call your name and you're not ready to go? C Everyone will stare at you and tell you what you know G That you're in too deep and you can't quite keep your secrets, one and all Am We might just make it after all, on our own C We might just make it after all Am But we had one foot on the gas and one foot in the grave C Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made G Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made Am All the times he said he would she never really understood, C What he said, or what he meant, he won't forget what wasn't said, G He’ll find himself alone standing in the rain, yeah, yeah, yeah, F I’m a super all or nothin’, I’m a no one, going nowhere fast, G But I don’t care, F I’m a super all or nothin’, I’m a no one, going nowhere fast, G But I don’t care, but I don’t care. G Maybe the times we had, they weren't that bad Am And everything else was part of the plan G We sang: "I don't know where we go from here" F This is the alpha, omega, beginning and the end C And we all just idolize the dead Am So you were born (So you were born), and that was a good day G Someday you'll die (Someday you'll die), and that is a shame F But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream C And nothing and no one will ever take that away Am Me and Mr. Dylan on the ride home G We had a heart-to-heart about life Em But neither him or me could decide for ourselves G If we wanted to outlive that night Am Like two children on the playground of the unconfessed souls G Abandoned by our mothers and our lovers and our foes Em If only we were brave enough to live the lives we stole G What a wonderful world this could be! C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na Am When as you close your eyes for the big sleep F I hope you think of me, yeah C Na, na, na, na, na, na G Na, na, na, na, na, na, na F Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na C So do the right thing or do nothing. What will you do when they come for you? C Or just do what is easier. What will you do when they come for you? C That's what I read what I swear they said to me. Nine times out of ten they lied to me G And after all they had the guts to say Son, no one will save you now G We want it, they got it. They claim we'll die without it G But something tells me they are wrong Am So, how many more examples until we break? G So how many sacrifices must we make? G Because we've all been there once before Em And it looks like we've returned once more G So is this the beginning or the end? G The last two soldiers on the battlefield Am Survivors of the war G They aim at one another while their mothers beg the lord G "If you're listening, I'm missing him Em So somehow bring him home. G How did it come to this?" G So the soldiers lift their rifles Am And they're aiming at the head G They think of their first love before they take their final breath Em And somewhere in the distance they hear something someone said: G "How did it come to this?" Horn Segway - Power Chords F F F Outro Chorus Am When as you close your eyes for the big sleep F I hope you think of me, yeah. G Yeah, the times we had, they were not that bad Am And everything else, that was part of the plan G And we sang, "I don't know where we go from here" F This is the Alpha (Alpha!), Omega (Omega!), beginning and the end! C And we all just idolize the dead Am So you were born (So you were born), and that was a good day G Someday you'll die (Someday you'll die), and that is a shame F But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream C And nothing and no one will ever take that away And someday soon my friends, this ride will come to an end But we can't just get in line again. -------------------------- The Layout - *Note - I put what I thought was the intro/chorus/etc. You may think otherwise.
