Comments? Corrections? Flames? yimv000@unbc.edu This may be a really easy song, but I still think it rocks. Silverchair has gotten a lot of critical flack because of their age (hence, it lacks validity) and the fact that they "rip off" Nirvana, Offspring, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Helmet, Rage Against the Machine, and Filter, but they're still a young band. With some time, they will find their own original sound. Either that, or they'll mish-mash everything they've heard to the point that it doesn't sound like any one of those artists. :) But then, all things considered, parts of this song do sound a lot like "Hey Man, Nice Shot" by Filter and "Milktoast" by Helmet (and the intro supposedly sounds like a song by Mad Season). Oh, well. Use dropped-D tuning. If you want to go for broke and go for the exact same tone used, use a Gibson SG, the same kind of guitar used by Daniel Johns during the recording of this song. Listen to the CD for the correct timing, as I can only do so much with ascii text. The bassline is really easy...just follow the root notes of every chord.
