Equipment: John Frusciante plays a Fender Strat into a clean Marshall amp.
           For the break, he uses a steel-string dreadnaught acoustic.

To get those high pitched notes at the beginning, turn the volume knob down
and play, then increase the volume so it fades in.  Add some delay and
reverb to add to the spaciness.
