This is exactly how Ben Rector plays it live, he has personally contacted me and told me how he plays it.
He plays in high strung tuning (Nashville tuning) where the lowest three strings are replaced with strings one
octave higher, this is not necessary for the song, but know that is why his version may sound slightly different
from what you are playing.
