Clueless Wonder by Joel Plaskett

Tabs

Tabbed by: Colin Finlay
colinwfinlay #@# rogers.com

First off, I have to give 99 percent credit to Patrick Hickey and Skinner for their tab.
I didn't even know open Chord diagramA augmentedA tuning was a tuning on the guitar at first and their tab is
almost bang on. I was doing some research on the open Chord diagramA augmentedA tuning, and I found that it is
used for mainly slide guitar players. The reason why it sounds so good is because most
of the chords are played open so the strings resonate and give that awesome sound.
When you put your fingers down on the frets to play the chord it takes away for what
the tuning was meant for, to be played as open as possible.

I don't want to critique someone's tab, but it's been raining all day and I've been
listening to this song and watching every video I can to pick up any chords that
I believe are right.

Once again, tuning and most chords are courtesy of Patrick Hickey and Skinner.

/ = Slide up

h = hammer
(5) = harmonic

CHORDS:
(I don't know the name's of the chords since we are in Open A, but I am going to use
Patrick's chord naming to avoid confusion)

Riff A:

This was really hard to figure out. I saw Joel live and I couldn't figure out what he was
doing for this riff moving sliding his hands from the 2nd to 4th fret in the chorus.
The bass plays the Chord diagramD MajorD and Chord diagramA augmentedA which you hear over the guitar, but if you listen really
carefully to the song you can hear this part. Get the timing from the song.

Fill Chord diagramBB is the same as Fill A, just instead of the open Dflat string, its a
harmonic on the 5th fret

Verse 2:
The only thing different in Verse 2 from Verse 1 is BaddF#. From listening to the song
it sounds like another track for guitar playing the single high note, it's not necessary
to play, but when playing by yourself it stands out.

Chord diagramA augmentedA
Clueless wonder
BaddF# Chord diagramA augmentedA
Who do you suppose,
BaddF# Chord diagramA augmentedA Chord diagramD MajorD
Who do you suppose might save you from yourself
Chord diagramA augmentedA BaddF# Chord diagramA augmentedA
Will you find another who will sweep you off your feet,
      BaddF# Chord diagramD MajorD
Who could sweep you off your feet and take you somewhere else

Chorus

Intro

*****Breakdown: Bass only

Clueless wonder,

Who is on this earth,

Who is on this earth who knows you like I do.

Could there be another who could feel your beating heart,

Who can see into your soul,
  D*
and knows that it is true.

* = (also on the high e string 10th fret, with delay and reverb)

Chorus

Outro:

Do this 7 times

--12-12-12-10-10-10-9-9--9/7--7/5--- after the 7th time end on -2-
------------------------------------ ---
--12-12-12-10-10-10-9-9--9/7--7/5--- -2-
------------------------------------ ---
------------------------------------ ---
------------------------------------ ---

Overall this was a hard song to tab, the bass is very loud in this song and it can
be deceiving especially in the Chorus.
