Wish You Were Here tab
Written and released on their Wish you were here album in 1975, the song is about former Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett who previous had a breakdown and left the band. Keep in mind when playing these Pink Floyd Wish you were here guitar tabs that the intro was originally done on a twelve-string guitar. At concerts Gilmore, their guitar player, used an electric Fender Stratocaster.
The seacret to get the song to sound just like the album is to use two guitars. One six-stringed and one with twelve strings. The well known into is repeated several times and also returns in the background in the solo. You can see all this in the Pink Floyd Wish you were here guitar tabs below. Even if this is one of the most well known Pink Floyd songs, and the most popular on this site, it was not released as a single before 1995. It was then a live version from the sampler PULSE which was pressed on a CD single.
