Chords with lyrics
This is actually a fairly easy song to play once you?ve figured out where to put your capo - 4th fret.
I can?t sing in the register that Karen does, but at least using the capo I can transpose it to some key
that I can handle. Below are the chord forms as if the song were played without a capo ?" but to be able
to play it just as OTR does ?" capo at the 4th fret.
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm G/DG/D
What a beautiful piece of heartache
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm G/DG/D
This has all turned out to be
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm G/DG/D
Lord knows we've learned the hard way
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm
All about healthy apathy
FF C majorC FF G/DG/D
And I use these words pretty loosely
FF C majorC FF
There's so much more to life than words
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
There is a me you would not recognize, dear
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
Call it the shadow of myself
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
And if the music starts before I get there
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
Dance without me, you dance so gracefully
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
I really think I'll be okay
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm
They've taken their toll, these latter days
(Same pattern for the next verse and chorus)
Nothing like sleeping on a bed of nails
Nothing much here but our broken dream
Oh, but baby, if all else fails
Nothing is ever quite what it seems
And I'm dying inside to leave you
With more than just clichés
There is a me you would not recognize, dear
Call it the shadow of myself
And if the music starts before I get there
Dance without me, you dance so gracefully
I really think I'll be okay
They've taken their toll, these latter days
C majorC G+G
Tell them it's real
A minorAm FF
Tell them it's really real
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm FF
I just don't have much left to say
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm
They've taken their toll, these latter days
C majorC G/DG/D A minorAm
They've taken their toll, these latter days
