SONG: GREAT GRANDADDY`S WAR
ARTIST: THE MULLIGAN BOTHERS
VIDEO: https://youtu.be/PQdRcGm_wmA
TAB BY: DON CZARSKI
EMAIL: GUITARZAN7@HOTMAIL.COM

NOTE: In the VERSES T implied what he is playing by using chords Bm A D G.
What is really done is what I call a `walk up` from the Bm to the G
chord. It is played on the A string and goes from the 2nd fret to the
4th and then 5th fret and then to the G chord. You can choose which
way you want to play this. I do it bothways depending on what mood I
am in. Please keep this in mind when playing and rating this tab.

                       GREAT GRANDADDY`S WAR
                        THE MULLIGAN BOTHERS

CAPO: 4th FRET

INTRO:
NONE
VERSE:
          Bm A D G
I can`t remember the last time I saw you smile
      Bm A D G
Just faces made with pictures from across the aisle
       Bm A D G
I was born on this team I was born to win
           Bm A D G
Lord have mercy on the others and forgive their sins

CHORUS:
   A G D G
I know that I`m supposed to be angry
         A Bm G
For the life of me I can`t figure out what for
          A Bm D G
If I can lie down with someone who loves me
            G A Bm A D G Bm A D G
Instead of dying in my great-granddaddy`s waaaaaaar

VERSE:
         Bm A D G
We were born here crying with our egos bruised
   Bm A D G
Below the Mason Dixon with the red state blues
                    Bm A D G
We`ve got a lot of heroes here screaming southern pride
       Bm A D G
But a hero`s just a villain to the other side

VERSE:
           Bm A D G
There`s a hundred years of bitterness in our blood
        Bm A D G
And it flows with the conviction of a forty-day flood
            Bm A D G
Until we`re out of ammunition and the rivers run red
           Bm A D G
Over what Jesus meant but what he never said

CHORUS:
   A Bm D G
I know that I`m supposed to be angry
         A Bm G
For the life of me I can`t figure out what for
          A Bm D G
If I can lie down with someone who loves me
            G A Bm A D G
Instead of dying in my great-granddaddy`s waaaaaaar

BREAK:
    A Bm
Oh pass me down that passion
          D G
In those blue eyes
 A Bm G
Give me that strong back and thinning hair

      A Bm
I`ll take those callused hands
            D G
And I will use them for good
     A Bm G
But let me choose my own cross to bear

                Em
`Cause they`re heavier down here
    D G
I swear they`re heavier down here

CHORUS:
   A Bm D G
I know that I`m supposed to be angry
         A Bm G
For the life of me I can`t figure out what for
      A Bm D G
I believe that I`d be fortunate to die here

         G A Bm D
I ain`t dying in my great-grandaddy`s war-a-ar
               G A Bm D
I don`t wanna die in my great-granddaddy`s war-a-ar
         G A Bm A D G
I ain`t dying in my great-granddaddy`s war
