Chords with lyrics
This is how I play the song! Suggestions and corrections welcome!
Watching this video: "Los Campesinos - In Medias Res (Mosaic Music Festival Singapore 2012)"
on youtube really helped me figure it out.
The lyrics in parenthesis are from the "All's Well That Ends" version, but the chords are the same
in both songs. It's also a little easier to hear the chord changes in that version in some parts too.
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE x4
A augmentedA F#F# G# minorG#m A augmentedA F#F# E MajorE
Verse 1:
BB
But let's talk about you for a minute
E MajorE
With the vomit at your gullet
F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
From a half bottle of vodka that we'd stolen from the optic
BB E MajorE
On the back seat of your car, because it wasn't safe to start it
F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
You were "far too fucked to drive", were the words that you imparted
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
And the woollen dress that clung so tight to the contours of your body
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
And the dead grass stuck to fibres from us rolling in the lay-by
BB E MajorE
Were passed to dog-haired blankets
F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
That protected the bench seat covers
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
And a crucifix was hung from rear view mirror by your mother
A augmentedA F#F# G# minorG#m A augmentedA F#F# E MajorE
(glockenspiel part:)

Verse 2:

I'm leaving my body to science, not medical but physics
AbAb BB AbAb Bb majorBb DbDb
Drag my corpse through the airport and lay me limp on the left wing

Drop me at the highest point and trace a line around the dent I leave in the ground

That'll be the initial of the one you'll marry now I'm not around

I flew for seven hours, the sky didn't once turn black

BB
And I would sooner go down in a ball of flames!
G# minorG#m
(Then I would lay here and be bored to death
E MajorE DbmDbm G# minorG#m
All's well that ends.)
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE x2
Verse 3:
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
I wake from sleep, my head and shoulder, wet against the window
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
A augmentedA frost had formed and melted, soaked me right through to my collarbone
BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m
If you were given the option of dying painlessly in peace at 45
E MajorE BB E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE BB
But with a lover at your side, after a full and happy life
E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE BB
Is this something that would interest you?
E MajorE F#F# G# minorG#m E MajorE
Would this interest you at all?
