Guitar Tab
Echoeing Gilewitz
     Written: Leo Kottke
     From: A Shout Towards Noon
     Transcribed: Charlie Weidhas
     Notes:
This is a pretty simple tune with the only
tricky part being maintaining the open 5th
and 6th string drone pattern. (Of course, sounding
     like Leo is not simple!!)
There is no muting of notes that I can
make out. Let the strings ring out with sustain.
Listen to the CD for timing as well as some slide
     nuance.
     Some assembly is required:
     Pass #1: A A A A B B C C D D E F
     Pass #2: A A A A B B C C D D E F
     Pass #3: A A A B B C C D D E F G G G G H
     Tuning: Open D

Hello,
Just to let you know, the tune of Echoing Gilewitz was actually written
by Richard Gilewitz and is contained in the full composition titled
Echoing Wilderness. Leo Kottke renamed the part of the song he recorded
after asking permission from Richard. The record label made a mistake
and gave Leo credit for writing the song.
The transcript in tab is soon to be available in Richard's new songbook
that is scheduled for release in the fall.
