Tabs

The *Complete* Joy Division TAB file
		""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

	From: Johnny Mnemonic
(TAB inverted by John Mc Donagh)

The lyrics I ftp'd from cs.uwp.edu, I dont know who to give credit to for
them. I made some corrections as I thought some of them were wrong. The
guitar work was mostly done by (guitar hero) Bob Lagrasse and I did the bass
parts. If you disagree with anything or play anything differently, drop me
a line as I'd love to hear it. We based these tabs off of the studio albums,
we could make a whole other long text file on how they played with (Still and
variouse bootlegs). Also, Ian did change some of the lyrics on some of
the live performances. Hmm, did I leave out and excuses? :P

------------
Joy Division
Ian Curtis : Vocals, guitar
Bernard Dicken: Guitar, synth, bass (I have no idea where or when he played
bass, but whenever they list the band he is credited with
        some bass work).
Peter Hook : Bass, vocals, guitar (Again, I have no idea where Peter
        played guitar.)
Stephen Morris: Drums

Insight
-------
this part is most likely played by a guitar, but i have transcribed it for
bass cuz when playing live P plays the part will Bernard is at the synth.
But I could never get my bass to sound like the Unknown Pleasure version,
but here's my best shot at it.

g-10-10-9-9-7--7-7--7--7-7- x2

g-8-8-7-7-5--5-5--5--5-5- x2

repeat till the bass 'solo'

the bass bridge is
g-10--10-10-10--10-10-7--7-9--9-10-10-10-10-10-10--7-7-7-7-7-

the bass also follows the guitar part at some parts which is---

I could never get my bass to sound just like Pete's, but I'm pretty
sure the progression is right...

Well, that's all we have cranked out for now. Like I said, if
ya' find anything blatantly wrong or you play it a lil different
and it sounds good I'd love to hear about it.

Hope you have as much fun with this as we did.
