INTRO - ELECTRIC GUITAR
Fade in with this riff about 4 times thru. You will
hear him whisper, "After two...", then the drums
begin next time thru the riff which then repeats 2
more times, making 6 in total.

You can get the slightly-detuned effect if you have a dive
bar. Allow the handle to rest in the circle made by the
thumb and index finger of your pick hand and you will end up
knocking it around as you pick the strings. I don't know if
this is how the guitarist achieves this effect, but it works
for me! Don't worry too much about hitting the strings
exactly as I have shown - the chap who plays it varies the
riff slightly each time thru, but generally it goes middle,
top, bottom, middle, top, middle, bottom, middle
Happy so far? On with the Verse, then...
ACOUSTIC GUITAR
OK, now, as to playing style, you will notice that, although
I have placed a chord at beat 3 of every bar, you rarely hear
it sounded solidly. It is more a subliminal stroke of the
strings. Occasionally, you hear a similar very quiet stroke
on beat 4.5 of a bar. Just once in a while.

Now repeat chorus riff twice to finish the bridge off...
Verse 4: just play the main verse riff twice thru, then
finish with an Asus 2 on the upbeat, followed by a
rolling chord, thus:

with a rhythm like this example:

Finally, thanks to Joe Breuner, who requested that I have a go
at this one way back in April. Sorry it took so long, Joe, just
haven't had a minute to myself....
