I learned this by ear, so there might be mistakes, especially on the 7 chords.. sounds ok to me.

For the A7 D A7 part. hit the D like a short hammer on.
For soloing use A pentatonic scales (both major and minor work), over the F#m progression use F# minor.

Try to avoid open chords and play with a lot of dead notes to get the funky style out of it.
