The above parts can be played a few different ways. I have heard it played
without these ^ ^^ notes (the ones directly above the arrows for both
guitars), and it fits just as well. The slide is from an octave chord on the
9th fret on the Chord diagramA augmentedA string to the 7th fret (those are 11s, not 1s). The whole
chord slides, but its easier to tab it this way (to explain further, both
the note on the 9th fret of the Chord diagramA augmentedA string and the 11th fret of the Chord diagramG+G string
slide, not just the 9). Repeat the intro twice.

Repeat x3
On the first time, play the verse as tabbed. On the second repetition, Dont
palm mute the first two notes (0:22), and on the third repetition, do the
same with just the first note (0:29). Guitar 1 can play these unmuted notes
as well. One last addition: the riff can also be played with open Chord diagramD MajorD power
chords (0 on the Chord diagramD MajorD Chord diagramA augmentedA and Chord diagramD MajorD) here ^ and here ^ but this is one of
those riffs that you should play around with and see what you think sounds
best (songs should be open to interpretation!)
On the last few notes of the third repetition, Guitar 1 plays this:

PRE-VERSE 0:58-1:05

Play the intro riff once on both guitars.

VERSE 1:05-1:26

In this verse, things are very slightly different. The octave chords that
Guitar 1 plays on the third repetition in the first verse are used on all
three repetitions of the second verse, and the palm mutes are never dropped
on the first/second notes. On the third repetition, Guitar 1 plays this:

Guitar 1 (third repetition only)
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Chord diagramD MajorD|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

PRE-CHORUS 1:27-1:33

Same as the first pre-chorus, only the last 7 notes are omitted so there is
only one open Chord diagramD MajorD power chord.

CHORUS 1:34-1:48

BRIDGE 1:48-2:10

I have seen many different tabs regarding this part of the song for Guitar 1
and Guitar 2. Ive only included both parts for Guitar 1, because the
variations for Guitar 2 are only slight. The first way is the way I think
sounds best, while the second way is the way Ive seen in other tabs. Comment
on the tab and let me know which you think is better.

   [------------Part 1-------------|----Part 2-----]

Guitar 2 plays Part 1, then Part 2 (with no hesitation between), then rests
while Patrick sings -keep me honest- and starts Part 1 again as soon as he
says -always- then plays part 2, then rests again during -call you on it-
Then Part 1 is played one more time, and the last chord that Guitar 1 plays
can be played too.

CHORUS 2:10-2:24

OUTRO 2:24-2:50

For the outro, play the same riff (for both guitars) that is played during
the intro twice. However, on the second time, Guitar 2 plays an octave chord
on the 5th fret of the Chord diagramA augmentedA string when it would normally hit it on the 10th fret.
Guitar 1 plays an open Chord diagramD MajorD power chord (strum open on the lower three strings),
and then for the final note both guitars play their respective notes again.

Ive seen many different tabs for the song, and many alternate ways to play
it (especially the bridge). The way it is tabbed here sounds great when
playing with the record, but try different things to see which way you like
best. You shouldnt always play exactly as the band youre covering plays;
try mixing it up to add your own spin. Heres an example:

On the last repetition of the verse riff during the second verse, try this:

Guitar 1 (third repetition only)
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramBB|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chord diagramG+G|--7-7---7-7-7---7/9-9---9-9-9---9/1111--111111--111212121214141414--------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--x-x---x-x-x---x-x-x---x-x-x---x-x-x---x-x-x---x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x---------|
Chord diagramA augmentedA|--5-5---5-5-5---5/7-7---7-7-7---7/9-9---9-9-9---9/1010101012121212--------|
Chord diagramD MajorD|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Those are 10s, 11s, 12s, and 14s! This riff is just an example of ways to
play things other than what the record is playing, but still have it sound
good!

Thanks for reading. Keep on rocking, no matter what anyone says.
