Guitar Tab

Song: Souljacker part I
Written by: E, Butch and Adam Siegel
Album: Souljacker
Artist: eELS
Tabbed by: Paul Costello
Equipment used: Westfield Fender, Marshall Amp

Standard Tuning: eADGBE

This is my work and it is 100% correct.
This song works with one guitar, but two is better.
Also, before we begin, two notes:
1) The spaces in between the tab numbers mean nothing;
and
2) To make this sound even better, play this with
volume at
somehwere like 6, then when you reach Step 3, turn
it up
full for the rest of the song.

==============================Step 1=================================

Guitar #1:

Palm mute this bit
E|-----------|
B|-----------|
G|-----------|
D|-----------|
A|-----------|
e|-0-0-0-2-3-|

This pattern is repeated over and over until E sings
"Aw Yeah!".
Then lift the palm mute and play the same pattern open
string. Return
to palm mute pattern when E begins singing again.

Guitar #2:

This guitar stays silent until the "Aw Yeah!" bit.
Then you play the
E chord over and over until the palm mute pattern
returns. Then, stop
playing. Oh, by the way, the E chord is below:

E|-------|
B|-------|
G|-1-----| TA-DA! The
D|---2---| <----- E Chord
A|---2---|
e|-------|

==============================Step 2=================================

Guitar #1:

Repeat the same as Step 1 before until E starts
singing the line
"Sisters', brothers...". Then, play the same pattern,
open, on the
next string. Like this:

E|-----------|
B|-----------|
G|-----------|
D|-----------|
A|-0-0-0-2-3-|
e|-----------|

Keep going until E gets to the line ending with
"... under the covers.". Then return to the previous
string. Play
it open until the line "Until you're bleeding." is
sung. Then return
to the palm mute.

Guitar #2:

Repeat the same as Step 1 until E starts singing the
line
"Sisters', brothers...". Then, change from the E chord
to an Am,
which is below:

E|-------|
B|-1-----|
G|---2---| TA-DA! The
D|---2---| <----- Am Chord
A|-------|
e|-------|

Keep going until E gets to the line ending with
"... under the covers.". Then return to the E chord.
Play
it open until the line "until you're bleeding." is
sung, then stop.

==============================Step 3=================================

Guitar #1:

Repeat the same as Step 2 with one change. When E
sings the line
"until you... rock!", rather than go back to the palm
mute pattern,
play the pattern without the mute. Move between the E
and A string
accordingly.

Guitar #2:

Repeat the same as Step 2, except for the change.
After E sings the
line "Until you... rock!", just cycle through the E
chord and Am
chord. Play each one like this:

       E
      |- - - -|- - - -| x 4
       1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4

       Am
      |- - - -|- - - -| x 4
       1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4

==============================Step 4=================================

Guitar #1:

Just keep that pattern on those two strings going on
and on until,
and you need to listen to the song to get the timing
right, you play
this very slowly:

E|------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------|
e|----12-12-12-12-12-13-13-13-13-13-14-14-14-14-14-0----|

Let the last note ring out.

Guitar #2:

This part is a pain to tab because you have to kick in
alot of
distortion, so all I could obtain is that there are
seven notes
and, if played right, SHOULD sound kind of atonal. It
happens
somewhere in the area of fret 10 on the G string (stop
laughing).

Then, and you'll have to listen to the song to find
out exactly
when this bit comes in, you play this very slowly.

E|-------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------|
e|----12-12-12-12-12-13-13-13-13-13-14-14-14-14-14-0~----|

~ - Let the last note ring out.

This is the only time that both guitars play the same
thing.
It's also the last thing that Guitar #2 plays. After
this,
get them to standby on the Gain switch on your amp.

==============================Step 5=================================

Guitar #1:

Go back to playing Step 1 with one change. When E
sings "Aw yeah.",
play the E string open, letting it ring out. Get your
friend on the
Gain switch to turn it up, stopping just before that
high-pitched
feed-back kicks in.
