About Susie Q

“Susie Q” was originally written by Dale Hawkins and released as a single in 1957. Creedence Clearwater Revival covered “Susie Q” for their self-titled debut album in 1968. The album version was a lengthy 8 minutes + song. The song was split in two for the single release, side A fades out with the guitar solo and is faded in again on side B. “Susie Q” is the only CCR hit that is not written by John Fogerty. We hope you will have fun playing these “Susie Q” guitar tabs, enjoy!

John Fogerty has revealed that the reason why Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Susie Q” version was over 8 minutes was to get it played on a local prog-rock radio station. This song is also the reason that every girl named “Susie” is automatically nicknamed “Susie Q”!
