There is two ways to make an E7, the hard way and the easy way, so let us talk about the easy way.
E7 is your first finger on the third string first fret, and then your second finger on the fifth string second fret and that is all you need. No need to be careful when you hit the strings, as you hit all six. E7 has a short cut to A.
We can also try the harder route to go to the E7 chord with four fingers. We start with an E major chord, first finger on third string on first fret, second finger on the fifth string second fret and then the ringfinger on the forth string second fret. We now have an E chord, right, and then if you manage to get the pinky on the second string third fret, we have an E7 chord. A little bit different.
So there it is, the hard E7 and the easy E7 chord.
