So let us talk about A major guitar chord. A major is an open chord in this beginner lesson.
First we are going to put the first finger on the forth string second fret, and then use your second finger, the middle finger, to the third string, second fret. The ring-finger should be placed on the second string at the second fret. That’s it A major. When you strum it, try to avoid the sixth string as it is not supposed to be played, but if you hit it, it is not a big deal.
Sometimes you might see people play A major a bit differently. For instance, I tend to play with two fingers and some play it with just one, but the easiest and most basic way is to play it with three fingers. That’s how you play A major.
