Cripples Cry Chords by Tim Buckley

Cripples Cry chords by Tim Buckley

Guitar chords with lyrics

Artist - Tim Buckley
Song - Cripples Cry
Album - This track wasn't released on any of Buckley's studio albums but a version can
found on the bootleg 'Live at the Folklore Center 1967', which is of a January '67
in Greenwich Village. A studio version was definitely recorded around the time of
and Hello, and is allegedly sitting in the archives of Herb Cohen, Buckley's then manager.
it'll get a proper release some day (although given that Starsailor and Blue Afternoon
remain out of print I wouldn't hold your breath!).

The whole song uses the same four chords over and over. The basic pattern in the
on the root chord seems to be:
🎸
Accuracy Rating: - Votes: -
       A
e-----------------------|
B---------------3-------|
G-------------3---3-----|
D-----------------------|
A------0----------------|
E-----------------------|

And then I guess pick as suits your style, or listen to the recording to see how it's
there. If you have a beautiful voice with a four octave range that will probably add
to its performance as well...

             A
I know we're through but I still can't really believe that we'd fall

                A
And though it's sad I still try to hold back my tears, but still I call

           C#m
What can I say or do for you?

               A
What would you like me to be?

        C#m
Shall I laugh, dance or sing for you?

         A
Cripples cry, what can I do?

      Bm
Yes I know that you don't want me anymore

        Bm
I carry tears, incense and fine wines

        A
What do you do?

           Bm
        A
But please believe that your love will grow with time or with need

                Bm
         A
And though you say that you'll never change your mind, I'll be here

          Bm
And I'm a torn down child for you

           A
I build my castles in the sky

             Bm
And I've the colours of a clown

       A
In the teardrops from my eyes

      Bm
Yes I know that you don't want me anymore

        Bm
I carry tears, incense and fine wines

        A
What do you do?

           C#m
I'm on the other side of fear

           A
Through my pain I've learned to love

          C#m
And if my actions aren't too clear

         A
remember clowns only cry

      Bm
Yes I know that you don't need me anymore

        Bm
I carry tears, incense and fine wines

        A
What do you do?

          C#m
Your dark secrets torture my mind

             A
Your life of love turns me cold

               C#m
And your first lovers you've left behind

          A
Or do you wish to return?

         Bm
Oh yes I know that you don't need me anymore

        Bm
I carry tears, incense and fine wines

        A
What do you do?

           C#m
What can I say or do for you?

               A
What would you like me to be?

        C#m
Shall I laugh, dance or sing for you?

         A
Cripples cry, what can I do?

          Bm
And yes I know that you don't need me anymore

        Bm
I carry tears, incense and fine wines

        A
What do you do?

NB - I can't be 100% sure on the lyrics cos the bootleg's kind of poor quality. I think
mostly right though.
