Chords with lyrics
So acoustically anyway, Broods play this in the key of B.
I'm not sure of the chord name, but if you play the BB on the 7th fret and leave the 1st and 2nd strings open
during the chorus, it gives it that really nice dissident sound. The E MajorE minors here are basically just bass
notes to assist with the transition from BB to G#m, and can be added and removed as you see fit.
Intro (and basically the whole song): BB E minorEm G# minorG#m E minorEm B...
BB (E minorEm) G# minorG#m (E minorEm)
...The nights are getting shorter
BB G# minorG#m E minorEm
...I don't know where they go
BB G# minorG#m
...I am getting older
BB G# minorG#m
...And it's starting to show
(E minorEm) BB
And ever since I left my mother
G# minorG#m
It's much harder to know
BB
How to make my own life here
G# minorG#m
How to make my own home
Chorus:
E minorEm BB
I don't wanna wake up lonely
(E minorEm) G# minorG#m
I don't wanna just be fine
BB
I don't wanna keep on hoping
G# minorG#m
Forget what I had in mind
(E minorEm) BB
I don't wanna wake up lonely
G# minorG#m
I don't wanna just be fine
BB
I don't wanna keep on hoping
G# minorG#m
Forget what I had in mind
E minorEm BB
Forget what I had in mind
BB G# minorG#m
I remember the time when a kiss on the hand was enough
BB G# minorG#m
'Cause we knew we were free and we knew what it meant to be loved
(E minorEm) BB
But ever since I left my father
G# minorG#m
It's much harder to know
BB
How to live my own life here
G# minorG#m
When all I need is home
[Repeat chorus]
And so on. Sorry, I don't normally post these, but this song is freaking great and wanted to post the acoustic
version. Feel free to post corrections
