Green Onions by Booker T And The M Gs

Bass tabs

A great lesson in blues for the beginners.
You get the same pattern repeated as the 1-chord (I),
the 4-chord (IV) and the 5-chord (V). Called as such
because the 4-chord is a perfect 4th above the 1-chord,
and the 5-chord a perfect 5th above. In bass player
lamen terms, the 4-chord is 5 frets (or one string)
up, the 5-chord is 7 frets (one string plus 2 frets)
up.

So, here's the pattern, fretted out....

The 1-chord goes like this...

  1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n
G |----------------|
D |----------------|
A |------------1---|
E |1---1-1-4-------|

The 4-chord goes like this...

  1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n
G |----------------|
D |------------1---|
A |1---1-1-4-------|
E |----------------|

And of course, the 5-chord like this...

  1 n 2 n 3 n 4 n
G |----------------|
D |------------3---|
A |3---3-3-6-------|
E |----------------|

Play these in the standard 12-bar blues pattern...

1,1,1,1,4,4,1,1,5,4,1,1.

Just repeat over and over........
I love it.

Martin.
