Band: The Black Halos
Album: The Violent Years
Tabbed by: Chris Krause
The Black Halos are a decent punk band from Vancouver, Canada. I saw them
when
they came through town opening for the Offspring. The put on a good enough
show
that a few days later I decided to buy their CD.
The music is fast paced and aggressive, but the obvious production on the CD
and
warm, smooth distortion makes them seem more like a rock band that just
happens
to play really fast and use a lot of sing-a-long choruses.

NOTE: -The above section is played twice. The last 4 measures above (in
brackets) are played 2nd time only.
-The first time use turn the volume way down or use heavy palm muting
(the guitar is barely audible, it's mostly just bass). The 2nd time
the volume is a gradual crescendo over the first 7 measures and full
volume from then on.
-The percent (%) symbol means repeat the previous measure. I just
used it to save space.
FILLS AND ADDITIONAL GUITAR PARTS:
There are 2 places where they throw in a guitar "lead". You can play the
song with 1 guitar no problem, but if you have 2, one of them can throw
this stuff in whenever you get bored.
The first is over some of the verses (for example at time (0:54)).
Just listen to the CD to get the feel (or fake it - I'm sure they do).

You can hear it numerous times, for example at (0:09), (0:30).
It's normally played over the verse chords.
In case you really want it, here's the song structure:
Intro
Verse x3 (that means perform what I tabbed out 3 times, not 3 verses in a
row)
Chorus
Verse x2
Chorus
Bridge Pt1
Bridge Pt2
Chorus x2, then repeat last measure of chorus until you're done.
