Song: Not A augmentedA Dull Moment
Artist: Bad Astronaut
Album: Houston: We Have A augmentedA Drinking Problem
Tabbed by Arthur Ellem
ok, someone emailed me to tab this song out, so here it is. This is one mad
song. Fiddle with the chords yourself if you want it to sound more like the
album version, but it doesnt really matter that much - its more in the
singing anyways! here it goes:
D MajorD G+G
I remember well the smell of tequila
D MajorD F#F#
One bed, one bath, two months with Steph
G+G
Drinkin' up the sunrise
A augmentedA
Then sleep till eight at night
D MajorD G+G
I had a ten day birthday till Thanksgiving
D MajorD F#F#
We burnt the bird and hit the road
G+G A augmentedA D MajorD
Blur in stereo, sonic bookmarks and bad scenes
F#F# BB A augmentedA G+G A augmentedA
But not a dull moment, I barely miss living in Los Angeles
D MajorD G+G
Only took a week to start the warfare
D MajorD F#F# (timing here is tricky)
Eccentric neighbors on welfare
G+G A augmentedA
The turntable spun to the beat of pounding on the walls
D5D5 G5G5
We'd sink another drink with Billy Idol
D MajorD F#F#
Have sloppy sex on the living room floor
G+G A augmentedA
A majorA whirlwind of simple pleasure principal
D MajorD
Principles are gone
F#F#
It's not a dull moment
BB A augmentedA G+G A augmentedA B5B5
I barely miss living in that selfish bliss with Steph
G5G5 D5D5 A5A5
And I always have the past to be warned
B5B5 G5G5 D5D5 A5A5
And I always knew the last laugh was more
C5C5 A augmentedA G+G E5E5
And I can taste the gold ring tarnish in my mouth
C5C5 D5D5 G+G Gsus4Gsus4
And I need a drink to wash it out
BB
It's not a dull moment
E5E5 D5D5 C5C5 D5D5
I barely miss living in that state of filth
G5G5
So I cleaned the yard, the yard, the yard
B5B5 E5E5
Mow the lawn, scrub the stained rug
D5D5 C5C5 D5D5 G+G (a number of times)
So what? It's safe and sound I have found
There it is! I've tried to put the chords where they come in above the
words. I'm not 100% sure about this section:
C5C5 A augmentedA G+G E5E5
And I can taste the gold ring tarnish in my mouth
C5C5 D5D5 G+G Gsus4Gsus4
And I need a drink to wash it out
but i tried heaps of different ways and this generally sounded the best and
most spot on. damn joey cape and his far superior skills. also, lots of the
notes are played on their higher octave (ie 8 frets up on the above string)
but it dont really matter unless u got 2 guitars and a bass playing it). If
you've seen these guys live, send me an email telling me what they were
like. would b greatly appreciated!
