Having seen Gira live, he doesn't use weird tunings: just has his guitar in D Standard, and for this song he
puts his Capo on the 3rd fret (so 1st fret if your guitar is in Standard).
On record, the song is played with 3 guitars, with Gira just strumming the rhythm and 2 of Akron/Family
providing separate leads, but the overall effect can be recreated with just one guitar.

To recreate the effect of Akron/Family's leads, you can just play variations on the 2nd fret of the B & E
strings with your pinky. It doesn't really matter what you do specifically as the song is pretty variable.
I've included the ones I use, which match up with the first 4 bars of the intro (but not the whole song,
although I do use them for the whole song).
