Rooster chords by Alice In Chains

Guitar chords with lyrics

I just learnt this song yesterday its rough - but as a general acoustic strum
song its great...

Rooster - Alice In Chains (Dirt)

verse chords are F# (244322) then Fadd11 (244300), followed with
A(577655) and then Asus9 (577600). Don't quote me on the chord names, and
stress the trebble change.

then there is the "yeah here comes the rooster" bit which goes B (799877) then
D/A (xx4232) then F# (244322) to F#/Em (044300) again stress the treble.

and the whiny wah bit goes as below

G 4 3 4 6 6 4 4 6 4 2 | 4 3 4 6 11\9 11 10 11 11 9 9
D 4 2 x |
A 2 1 2 4 4 2 2 4 2 1 | 2 1 2 4 9\7 9 12 9 9 7 7
E 2 0 0 |
The lyrics are on the album sheet, and you're gonna have to listen to it to get
timing etc... if I've missed any _crucial_ parts, mail me and I'll see if I can
remember.... terminal is at varsity, guitar is at home :(

hope this helps... if you know any Sap or Jar songs - i'd love it if you could
show me them :)

take care

About this song

"Rooster" by Alice in Chains is a song from their second album, "Dirt," released in 1992. The song was written by guitarist Jerry Cantrell as a tribute to his father, who served in the Vietnam War. The main riff features Cantrell's signature use of drop D tuning, adding a heavy and dark tone to the song. The haunting vocals by Layne Staley and the dynamic shifts in the song contribute to its powerful and emotional impact.
