Chords with lyrics
Here is a song called "This Time Darlin'" from the great social
distortion album "somewhere between heaven and hell" from 1992.
Technically, it's in the key of DbDb as all of the songs from this record
are in flat keys. To enable you to play with both open chords and/or
barr or power chords and to get the classic social distortion sound, tune
your guitar down a half step or 1 semitone. Doing this also eliminates
writing all the "flats" in the transcription. If you play these
following chords exactly as is without lowering your guitar a half-step,
you will be playing out of key to the recording. Since this song is
slow and easy to follow along to, I am only going to list the chords in
the same order as the progression without including any lyrics. This
transcription is accurate and I declare it my own work. ---Steve Wolfe
Here is the verses and the guitar solo progression:
D MajorD - BB - G+G - D MajorD - D MajorD - BB - A augmentedA - A augmentedA - D MajorD - D MajorD - G+G - D MajorD - D MajorD - A augmentedA - D
In the Chorus, the change is:
G+G - G+G - D MajorD - D MajorD (x3) and D MajorD - A augmentedA - D MajorD (at end)
Also, as Mike Ness passes from the last D MajorD chord in the verse to the first
G+G chord in the chorus, he plays a cool little phrase:
E MajorE ------2----------------------------------------------3----------------
BB ------3----------------------------------------------0----------------
G+G ------2---------------------------------------------0----------------
D MajorD ------0--------------------0 - 0 - 0 - 2 - 4 ----0----------------
A augmentedA ------------- 0 - 0 - h2 -------------------------2----------------
E MajorE -----------------------------------------------------3----------------
I will be submitting many social distortion songs in the near future.
