Another fine album by Foghat. If you like rock, boogie, and blues Foghat probably has something you will enjoy. Always music with a great beat and fun to listen to, this is one of their best, next to FOOL FOR THE CITY, ROCK & ROLL OUT... Full review

Foghat is a great 70's blues/rock boogie band. They were a huge stadium draw at one time, although I think this album was made before they had their days of fame. This is one of the earlier Foghat albums (their third, I believe). It ha... Full review

Foghat's second album is their first masterpiece. The opener, "Ride, Ride, Ride", and "What A Shame", both contain social commentary in their lyrics, and the rest of the album catches a band that's still young and hung... Full review

Foghat was one of those hard working bands that made good, basic rock music. Live always seemed a step better than studio, capturing the good time, blues-ey feel of the band. This album captures one of those moments. The songs are simple... Full review

Foghat was one of the great blues/boogie bands of the early 1970s. Not really a southern rock band from England as an earlier reviewer referred to them, they WERE wildly popular in my native Birmingham, Alabama (a fact to which the band ... Full review

Play Dirty and Nothin' But Trouble alone make this CD worth the investment. Crank 'em loud! Also has a great rendition of I Just Want To Make Love To You that is unexpected. An overall super effort after several lackluster attempts.... Full review

With the shortened version of Slow Ride & Drivin Wheel, I'd say save your money & look for the far superior BEST OF volume 1 or the harder to find volume 2 on Rhino. Same problem(short version of Slow Ride) but you get a better scope of ... Full review

Okay, the title of this review is a cheap shot, but looking at pictures of the band on the cover of "The Essentials--Foghat" reminded me of everybody's favorite fictional heavy metal band. Musically, Foghat could have given the Tap a run... Full review

I always liked this CD - it was one of my favorites! I can't say there's a song on this album I don't like. My favorite, though, has to be "Chateau Lafitte 59 Boogie"! I fell in love with this band back when I was in college, and although... Full review
